With these after the motion is detected it starts to record but by then the person or car is out of view or the camera just catches a couple frames of their backside. Other camera's Ive used before had an option that when there is motion it records video going back 5 seconds or 10 seconds prior to the motion. Everytime it records it's a day late and a dollar short. If you really want security and to see an emergency, this is not going to meet that need. If you just want to see what your dog is doing durign the day, great camera. Instaling the cameras is very easy, great job there. Setting up the Email forward is very easy as well, thumbs up for that. But the actual use for them seems like they didnt focus much on the functionality aspects of the true purpose of the camers.
